Dear HKSA enthusiasts of this new Spring,

My apologies for the delay of what were supposedly entries for the first three events, but here will be a condensation. :]

Allow me to begin with our WTH Orientation. First and foremost, I must apologize on behalf of HKSA for the mess of a beginning, and for hosting an event on what seemed to be a busy Monday for the many that had to leave early. Upon reviewing my photos of the night, however, I’m convinced by the candid smiles and laughs that it was undoubtedly an enjoyable experience of new friendships, reminiscent snacks, and mind-boggling games.

Perhaps the first game of 心靈相通 wasn’t as challenging as we hoped it would be, what with all those cheating ways. :P   But here’s props to all of you, with those tricks up your sleeves! But mind you, HKSA will be trickier next time! Then the new element of song in our second game  大電視 was entertaining…when watching those shameless and brazen vary notes of syllables and called them songs! As for our final game of Jeopardy, most of you were probably fighting as hard as you could, attempting to score points by rummaging through your current events and random knowledge! And then…who’d forget SCISSOR SALAD? Congratulations to Angus’s team! :]

That Friday, HKSA had its Hotpot Social at the same venue. Once again, another impressive turn-up, and we hope our food variety and amount were enough to satisfy those taste buds and stomachs craving for hotpot!  And trustfully, the interspersed HKSA-relevant slideshows and videos that filled the night interjected the static that may have overwhelmed had we allowed the night to continue with mere hotpot? Then there was the video of HKSA’s interns of last semester, which was rather difficult to hear (thank you, UCB, for allocating funds to covering vandalism of bathroom stalls, meanwhile increasing our fees and lacking in decent utilities!), but still managed to bring laughter to the scene. :]

And so I hope you walked away from this night warmed to the heart (and stomach) knowing how we are as HKSA, how we are as individuals, and how we are as friends. :]

The most recent of events, K-Night, proved to be an anticipated event once again! With enough attendees to fill up four rooms, it was an entertaining night of singing, games, and catching up. As I made my way through each room, the laughter and smiles that lit up each enjoying face were wonders to see. I recall opening the door to a room in which practically everyone was on his/her feet, all hyped up, singing a couple of lines to a song then passing the microphone along. Although I wasn’t a part of this hype, it was nonetheless a joy to see everyone immersed in such a festive and fun moment, laughing, singing, and delighting in his or her night. Albeit short, I trust that everyone had a great time?

And the atmosphere followed as we sat in Jac’s Bistro for dinner. Each table, making a ruckus and loud as hell, fought their best to grab the attention of the attendants. As the dishes made their ways to the corresponding tables, hunger subsided and the night came to an end.

HKSA so good so far? ;)

Best regards,

/K.
