Hey Members, Visitors, and Officers:
It is the Month of September which means UC Berkeley Fall 2008 is starting!!!! Before Let me say Welcome back Old members and Officers of HKSA and Welcome to our new members and about to be interns. This your Historian, Charles writing for the first time for the fall 2008 semester. Hope everyone’s first two weeks in Cal is great and everyone are getting all the courses they want and enjoying the great sunshine. Well since Fall 2008 is starting that also means that HKSA EVENTS are also being. Hope everyone is excited as I am. Haha. On the 27 of August we had one of the biggest club festival of Cal, Calapolooza!!! haha… It was great saying new faces from different parts of the US and China!!! haha. I got the chance to meet some freshmen, Junior Transfer and even a few sophomores. Still haven’t met any senior but if there are some that are interesting don’t be shy and come talk to us during our tabling hours from 11-2 at upper sproul or come to our next event, K-nite. After Calapolooza, we of course have the event that all our new students are excited for, HKSA Fall 2008 Orientation. On the 4th of September of our Fall Orientation, Not only did we had the chance to show new students of what HKSA actually is and why is one of the greatest social club on the berkeley campus, we also had the privilege to show a movie, us, HKSA officers participated in during the summer, called 愛‧錯了. Thanks to our hard working officers and the help of Captain, We had a great produce to show to all of our new students during orientation. While, we were showing the movie I heard a lot of laughter and saw a lot of smile, it seem like everyone loved it. After the movie, the main actors and our director chat about the things that happened when they were filming and the craziest moments that happened. I now it was a difficult process but other than long nights, we had a lot of fun filming such a great film. Since it was our HKSA Orientation, we weren’t only going introduce our club and show a movie, we also had to give some great prizes to the people that came to our orientation. Therefore, We had a raffle, however, did not just pick names, we raffle this time in a very unique way. Officers prepare balloons with slip of paper in it and only 10 of many balloons of papers that is number. Therefore, all the people would have to pop the balloons to find the paper that have number on them. After all the stomping and popping, we finally had 9 lucky people who take away the great prizes we prepared. after a night of introducing, laughter, balloon popping, and movie watching, the HKSA FALL ORIENTATION ENDED WITH A SUCCESS!!!!!!

Hey everyone!
I miss you all so much!!!!!!!! How’s everyone’s summer going?
Studying hard for summer classes? or playing hard??? =P
Just want to let you guys know that we will have a summer event at Berkeley soon!
For those of you who are in Berkeley, please come to this event! =P
Here is a brief event summary:
Event: BBQ at Berkeley Marina
When: 6/21 (Saturday)
Where to meet: 11am at Sproul Fountain (in front of Sproul Hall)
Fee: $5 for everyone
* For those of you who will drive, please let me know!
* I need people to prepare foods with me… So please tell me if you would like to help!
* Thank you Karena for making the flyer… I will try to post flyers around campus and I-house.
I realize that there’re many exchange-students around… maybe they will be interested to join our event.
Also, we will have filming for the orientation movie during/after the event.
Captain has the whole story out already. And some of us had few meetings before already!!!
I will let you guys know about the details later.

各位會員, Officers大家好呀,
火拼時速已經o係3/7/2008 順利舉行, 真係多謝哂黎左今次活動既member ..仲有多謝所以officer既幫忙。今次呢個event係我地hksa一個新既嘗試, 希望透過呢個新活動可以帶俾memeber 娛樂同笑聲。”火拼時速戰”o係露天及嚴寒之下挑戰左大家0既技術,膽量,體能,智力,同埋運氣, 仲有大家既團體精神, o係”勇氣”既task 入面, 我就親身見到每一team 豁出去, 當聚o係Sather Gate 跳舞, 仲要引起其他路人既奇異目光, 真係怕醜d都做唔到。另外, 聽到其他既feedback都覺得今次既event好有趣, 例如o係Latimer 鋤d 就好似處身o係北極, o係黑暗中玩puzzel, o係我地既魔鬼教練既嚴威之下成team人跳大繩 (跳左19下斷左都要皇頭黎過 ?! -___-”"”"”) , 仲有賭運擲骰吹波game …. 等等..其實設計呢個event之前, 都有諗過我係唔係” 將我既快樂建築o係member身上 “?? 不過當event完左之後, 見到d member 都帶住笑容走, 我都放心d ..因為最緊要係大家玩得開心。再一次感謝大家既參與, 希望下次再見到你地啦..
